Hi ,
For those of you who have been patiently waiting to see me, I'm happy to announce that The Chief Medical Officer of Health has stated that Acupuncturists may slowly restart non-essential and elective services effective immediately as stated below....
Directive 2 Amendment – Non-Essential Services May Restart
There are several conditions that I must meet to resume in-person practice.
- Members must comply with the requirements set out in COVID-19 Operational Requirements: Health Sector Restart (May 26, 2020 or as current). This is a Ministry document that covers requirements for risk assessments, hierarchy of hazard controls, screening, health human resources, critical supplies and equipment,
infection control and more.
- Members should use telemedicine or virtual care where possible and appropriate to avoid having patients physically come to the clinic. If you are uncomfortable coming to see me in person, this is an option for you (believe it or not, traditional acupuncture can be done virtually - try it!)
- Members must have appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). I have these items and ask that you bring your own mask and wash your hands upon entering and again when leaving.
The amended Directive 2 states that healthcare providers are in the best position to determine which services should resume in person, and which should resume virtually.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I will have further details in a few days.
