Hi ,
Hope you survived the madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday!
Are you familiar with EoE (Eosinophilic
Esophagitis)?
EoE is when the immune system sends too many “allergy cells” (white blood cells called eosinophils) to the esophagus, the tube that carries food to your stomach.
When your immune system gets confused, it thinks certain foods or allergens are “dangerous,” even when they aren’t. So it sends in extra eosinophils
which can trigger things like swelling, tightness and irritation.
Here are 6 Symptoms you might notice:
- Food feels stuck
- Trouble swallowing
- Chest or throat discomfort
- Coughing after eating
- Stomach pain
- Kids may eat slowly or avoid foods
🪄It gets even trickier🃏... Reactions can be DELAYED!
You might eat a food
today and not feel any symptoms until hours later — or even the next day; which makes it difficult to figure out what the trigger(s) are. However, there are always the common culprits you should look into first:
Food - dairy🥛, wheat🍞, eggs 🍳, nuts 🥜 and
soy
Environmental - pollen or dust
Other - stress or immune overload (they can make you more reactive)
There's still some good news!
We can work together to find the hidden triggers (without needles!) and then help your body deal with them using 'cold laser' acupuncture (yay - still no needles)!
If that's something you're interested in, feel free to book
yourself in.
FYI - you may be covered by your insurance provider if you have Acupuncturist or Nutrition in your plan! May as well use some of the benefits you're paying for - sounds like an oxymoron as I type this 😜.
Happy Friday
Eve!
