Ā
Hope you had a wonderful Easter š£ weekend.
Ā
Have you been unable to identify the cause of your symptoms?
Ā
Have you ever heard of Alpha-gal?
Ā
Alpha-gal is a type of food allergy caused by a reaction to a sugar called alpha-gal, found in red meat. More specifically, it refers to a type of sugar called galactose (hense 'gal'). It's triggered by consuming red meat (or other products) that contain the sugar 'alpha-galactose'.
Ā
Here's where is gets even weirder (is that even a word?). It's believed to be caused
by a tick bite!Ā
Ā
These are some of the symptoms that you may experience:
- Hives and itching
- Swelling of your lips, face or eyelids
- Shortness of breath, cough or wheezing
- Abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea or vomiting
- Light-headedness, dizziness
- Low Blood Pressure
- Anaphylaxis (a life-threatening response)
Ā
So if you eat red
meat and maybe had a tick bite, this could be one of the reasons for your symptoms.
If you are one of the fortunate people who react to the galactose, here are things (other than red meat) that may pose a problem:
Ā
- Dairy products,Ā
- Gelatin, other foods derived from
mammals
- Foods that contain mammalian byproductsĀ
- Drugs, medical products, Vaccines
- Personal care, household and other products with mammalian ingredients
- Products containing carrageenan, which isnāt from a mammal,
but which contains the alpha-gal
Ā
So with all the processed foods out there, you would pretty much react to everything unless you eat really clean.
The good news...there are options. Check my video below at the 4:34 minute mark.
